Family Promise launches Mobile Food Market

CONROE, Texas (July 4, 2020) — Family Promise of Montgomery County announces a mobile food market partnership with the Montgomery County Food Bank. The event is to take place Tuesday, July 14th beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Conroe Church of Christ located at 1680 Longmire Road, Conroe, TX 77304.

Family Promise of Montgomery County Case and Operations Manager, Lisa Garman said that one of the main components of the Family Promise mission is to provide their families with weekly meals. “When the COVID-19 pandemic hit four months ago, we decided to make the commitment to provide weekly meals, kids meals, snacks to our post-graduate families as a means to keep them financially stable,” Garman said. “The mobile food market is an extension of that. We will be able to distribute food to over 200 families here in Montgomery County.”

To donate to the mobile food market in support of Family Promise of Montgomery County, drive up to The Conroe Church of Christ any time after 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14th.

Family Promise is a local non-profit serving 4 homeless families at a time in rotating faith communities in a collaborative mission to increase their job readiness, and stability to enable them to be self-sustainable. Approved families with children are entered into Family Promises 90-day personal plan to reach attainable goals with a case manager. Topics include positive parenting skills, stress management, family safety, and budgeting. Families are provided meals, hygiene items, clothing, childcare, transportation, and shelter through partnering churches in the community.
