Family Promise of Montgomery County has a goal to raise $150,000 to cover the cost of rehousing families in their program to create long term stability. To date they have $20,000 towards their goal with the HUMI grant and a match by Genesis Medical of $10,000. Marilyn Kasmiersky, Executive Director of Family Promise of Montgomery County, offers a community challenge to get involved to help our families be successful to decrease childhood homelessness.

Dr. David P. Ellent, MD, and CEO of Genesis Medical Group donated $10,000 towards the first HUMI grant match to help stop homeless children in our community.

“I accepted the Help Us Move In (HUMI) $10,000 challenge to match Family Promise’s grant requirement and challenge others to do the same. It’s just that simple.”

Dr. Ellent is an oncologist who started Genesis Medical Group 4 years ago to give people hope. He is passionate about providing affordable healthcare to enable everyone a quality of life.

Genesis Medical Group is passionate about protecting our patients, families, and vulnerable individuals to bring hope. We are honored and proud to match the funds of $10K and challenge others in the community to do the same”.

Kasmiersky is in the trenches daily with families helping them to attain their goals of independence to successfully supporttheir children, empower parents to instill generational change, and help them to share the kindness with others they meet.

“This is an excellent initiative for Family Promise as we are looking to expand prevention and stabilization of our families intolong term housing stability. The need is growing in our community. All children deserve a home”.

Family Promise of Montgomery County Receives Grant from Clayton® and Family Promise National to Support Families in Montgomery County.

-- A Future Begins at Home grant program helps families facing homelessness remain in their homes and regain stability --

Conroe, Texas—Family Promise of Montgomery County was recently awarded a $20,000 grant from Clayton and Family Promise National that will ensure families in Montgomery County receive the support they need to remain safely housed. This grant requires a $5,000 match.

The grant is a portion of the $1.3 million dollars that Clayton and Family Promise National are dispersing to the Family Promise network nationwide. The funds are a result of the recently announced partnership extension between Family Promise and Clayton. A Future Begins at Home, the program that arose from the collaboration, focuses on helping families who face homelessness remain in their homes and quickly regain stability. Since its inception in 2019, A Future Begins at Home has catalyzed millions in additional funding resulting in more than 25,000 families served nationally.

“Family Promise of Montgomery County is honored to have this partnership grant that will benefit families in our own community. We believe every family deserves a safe, secure home creating stability and brighter futures for families with children.” Marilyn Kasmiersky, Executive Director

In addition to the grant program, Clayton has donated 16 homes to the Family Promise National network since 2019. It is a goal and vision for such homes to become a reality in our own community. These homes are used primarily as transitional housing for families working with Family Promise. The homes allow families to stay together and regain stability as they work to find a new home.
