Bed Race and Chili Cookoff

Teams of 5 compete in a Bed Race down a road. A team consists of 4 pushers and 1 rider; who MUST remain on the bed the entire time the bed is pushed down the street. Team members are encouraged to choose a theme for their team and decorate their bed and themselves.

· People’s Choice Awards – tickets are on sale for $1 each

· Highest Fundraising Merit Award

Chili Cook-off Rules 

Date: Saturday October 17, 2020 

When: 8:30 am Check-in 

11:30 am Tasting 

12:00 noon Judging 

12:30 pm Awards 

Rules: Chili must be cooked on site in a sanitary manner in your designated 15’x15area. No cooking equipment will be provided. No alcohol on site. This is NOT a sanctioned ICS event. The intent is to have fun and raise funds for Family Promise! Items 

Cost: $150 for team entry Sponsorships available $250, $500, $1,000, $2,500, and $5,000 (limit 1) Included in Annual Sponsorships. 

Designated site: Approximately a 15’x15’ space Limited power is available. Event is rain or shine. 

Provided: Sample cups, spoons and judging containers 

Items to be provided by Contestant: All chili ingredients, water, recommend a generator. Contestant is recommended to decorate, bring chairs, tables, canopy, etc. Very limited power will be provided. Contestants to bring extension cord. 

Prizes: Best Overall First Place Second Place Showmanship Chili: Provide 16 ounce for judging Provide a minimum of 2 gallons for distribution to public. 

Public will purchase raffle tickets for $1. Raffle tickets will be used to obtain a cup of chili, or a beverage from the beverage station. 

Beverages: No Alcohol Water and sodas will be available for $1 each
