Jennifer Steen graduated from Texas A&M with a bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in May 2005. After graduation, Ms. Steen joined Klotz Associates, where she worked on numerous Port of Houston Authority, projects including her beloved project the new Bayport Terminal entry gate.

Ms. Steen then joinedHalff Associates, Inc. in 2012.  She managed numerous civil engineering projects in the Conroe and Houston areas.Some of her more memorable projects include acquiring a FEMA accreditation for the Matagorda Ring Levee, assisting with the new bus route in the City of Conroe, and designing the access management lanes along SH-105. Her expertise in public works and roadway design has earned heresteemed recognition and admiration among her peers.

In 2017 Ms. Steen joined Bleyl Engineering, where she was promoted to the Public Works Department Manager.  Ms. Steen oversees all public work projects including roadways, utilities, drainage design, and the development of plans, specifications and estimates.  She directs a team of professional engineers, engineers in training and interns.

In addition to her outstanding performance as a department manager, Ms. Steen was active inAdvancing Women in Transportation (WTS) from 2006 to 2018. Mrs. Steen was the 2016/17 Director of Programs for the WTS Houston chapter, which included the liaison of three committees. From 2006 to 2018, Mrs. Steen chaired multiple committees including:  Communications, the Texas Leadership Conference, Membership and Programs.In 2010, she was awarded the WTS Houston Member of the Year.  In 2018 she was awarded the Chapter Award by the outgoing president.  Mrs. Steen has been a positive influence to WTS Houston and has enthusiastically assisted in helping the chapter grow.

Mrs. Steen is involved as a Sunday School teacher at Living Savior Lutheran Church in Montgomery.  She is a dedicated mentor for young parishioners and volunteers for a wealth of activities throughout the year.  In 2018, Ms. Steen became actively involved as a committee member planning the spring luncheon for Family Promise.  Her excitement and dedication to Family Promise has grown over the months and she currently serves as a board member.

Ms. Steen and her husband, Tim, are residents of Montgomery County.When she is not managing engineering projects, working withFamily Promise, or volunteering at church, she enjoys spending time with him and their two children, Jewell and Kyle.
