The mission of Family Promise of Montgomery County is to serve Homeless families with children by uniting faith communities in a cooperative effort to provide shelter, meals, & compassionate assistance.
The day center is a safe place to temporarily call “home”. Here clients receive case management and assistance with job searching, as well as referrals to many other social services to meet their need.
Host Congregations & Support Churches: Provide overnight lodging, dinner & breakfast, and hospitality for up to four families for one week host rotations.
Family Promise is a 501(c) (3) Non-Profit corporation. All contributions to Family Promise are tax-deductible For more information, or to make a Referral please call (936)-441-8778.
WHY WE’RE NEEDED Montgomery County has over 2000 homeless people in our area. We understand that unexpected events can create financial difficulties, or that those working at minimum wage often have challenges making ends meet. There are no other homeless shelters that provide for families to stay together as a unit. Family Promise helps families in crisis transition to self-sufficiency and independence.
ASSISTANCE PROVIDED Shelter, Food, Transportation Assistance, Case Management, Money Management & Budgeting, Child care assistance, Life Management Classes, Counseling referrals, Clothing vouchers, School supplies, Education grants, Housing referrals, Referrals to Other Social Service Agencies.
REFERRALS Are made by local social service providers, schools, churches, other family members or friends, as well as individuals themselves.
THE RESULTS Foe families is a life-changing experience for these families. 90% leave our program with full time employment and housing assistance.
